My Next Decade: A Time To Reinvent

Updated: Feb 11

A decade change can be frightening to some people, and understandably so. It can be intimidating if you don’t have the right mindset. I’m looking forward to this new journey, however, as there are many things I’m excited to accomplish as I enter my 60s.

New Challenges, New Motivation

Repetition is great as it pertains to a workout routine. Healthy routines are a great way accomplish whatever your goals are. Nevertheless, you should not allow repetition and routines to eliminate challenges in your life.

Challenges are what keep you moving forward, exploring new things and growing as a person. It can be difficult to find motivation when you become too comfortable with your routine. New obstacles are the best way to find stimulation.

I have no special abilities as an athlete. None. What I do excel at, however, is staying motivated through every obstacle, which is the most difficult aspect of fitness and health for some people. This motivation has helped me find my formula for success. Have you found yours?

If you’re struggling with finding that necessary drive, I’d love to work with you! Let’s get you moving!

I’ve Found my “Why”

Your “why” rests in your core. It’s the reason you’re doing what you’re doing. I’ve had many different “why’s” throughout my life, both personally and professionally, but my current one as a pro-aging fitness enthusiast is something I’m particularly passionate about.

It’s sad, but it’s true. People of a certain age, specifically women, are encouraged by society to dress and act a certain way. It seems like the older you get, the less you are allowed to do, regardless of your personal inclinations. Well, guess what? It is absurd that this type of thinking still exists in today’s supposed era of inclusivity.

My “why” as I enter my 60s is to inspire women in my age demographic to dress, act, and feel, and exercise the way they want. I’ve never compromised based on what other people think, why should you? Age is just a number after all, and it shouldn’t define how you carry yourself. This is what I am aiming to instill in others.

Nicole Shelley Models

I’ve recently signed with the Nicole Shelley modeling agency, pioneering her 45+ category of models. I hope to use this opportunity to inspire women 45 and beyond who are aligned with the mindset that age should never determine who we are. Nicole and I are embarking on a project to invite women to live the modeling experience, be it to have amazing photos for personal reasons, professional reasons, or to simply live the dream of being a model. This project will additionally serve as a conduit for my vision of expanding people’s and brand’s scope of inclusivity.

This year will be the year I fully embrace my “why,” all in an effort to help women realize that they can be successful and realize their dreams no matter how old they are. That is our goal at Nicole Shelley, and that is the type of “why” that will always keep me motivated.
